Paper Prowess |Source|

One thing that has totally impressed me always is the use of the right paper. It's that background which upholds the identity of one's design, the intend of a photograph, the character of your writing...... it's like a foundation of any building. Well yes! That's how important choosing the right paper is because you may ignore it, but it is that little detail that enhances the overall experience.
Sun Papers in Bora Bazaar, Chimanlals in Wallace Street, and Sona Commercial in Lower Parel, bombay (mumbai), India are MMT’s favourite shop stops for paper.
Chimanlals has been making and selling handmade paper and paper products for the past 50 years bringing along a paper culture in India and overseas. Their pursuit of traditional designs and printing techniques reflect in their stationery collateral (letterheads, envelops, visiting cards, desk organizers) wrapping papers, wedding invites, gift cards and many other accessories. If you want all the Indianness in your paper – ikkat, bandhani, ghumar, patola, warli, block etc etc. Chimanlal’s is your must go to store.

Ayesha Kapadia – Aesthetician & Artisan

Ayesha is a melange of many talents. Graphic designer, animator, painter, typographer, jewelry maker, poet and a closet singer.. it’s a pretty exhaustive list. She has a unique multidisciplinary approach to everything she does and we’ve been admirers of her work for a while.

The only way to describe Ayesha Kapadia’s work is by the words ‘Maverick soul’ Her name is also synonymous with Kometjuice; which is something like her pseudo identity and extends itself to becoming her brand or label.

Here is what we like about her work- it always makes you curious. its dynamic, multifarious, and most often evokes a strong emotional response.. you either love it or hate it!

CoppeR BrainS |The Source|

In our recent visit to The Vintage Garden Exhibition we came across a couple of lovely Doctors! Sitting besides a cute little garden like set-up exhibiting all kinds of  terrariums, suspended kokedama and very rustic looking dream-catchers.
Meet:  Dr. Abhijit Varpe (Founder) and  Dr. Esha Varpe (Director) of Copper Brains: Which is a  brilliant green-hearted initiative towards educating and exploring the possibilities of combining nature with art.

Copper Brains_1-06

Being the nature freak that I am, I couldn’t resist wanting to know more about who they were and what they do; CoppeR BrainS was established in an attempt to develop a niche where garden elements marry an art form that can be brought into our homes and add life and beauty in our living spaces.

What we LOVE about them is the passion that’s put in right from research to development and the sharing and caring involved!

They also organize a bunch of very interesting workshops! And maintain a blog where you can find all sorts of information about terrariums and their history and other unique  gardening techniques.

Roanna Fernandes- Writer. Illustrator

A writer and illustrator from Bombay and the girl behind jupiter skye. If I had to describe Roanna as a person in 3 words they would be C.U.T.E + F.R.I.E.N.D.L.Y + C.O.L.O.U.R.F.U.L  and this about her is perfectly depicted through most of her illustrations. Everytime I view her work it instantly reminds me of my precious childhood memories filled with an obsession for stickers!! Some of my favorite works by her are…

You can view her complete portfolio ‘here’ She has also recently launched the’ The Jupiter Skye Shop’ that showcases a variety of items made by her that are up for grabs! Ranging from beachie jewelry to greeting cards and ornaments to stickers!! (yaay!)

We asked Roanna:  what inspires her artistry? And what is especially inspiring her these days? And this is what she had to say ”Colours, objects, patterns…People! What they wear and/ or do…I note ideas down on my phone, make lists and work on things I am inspired by at the time. At the moment, I am besotted with the Grand Budapest Hotel. Its colours and typefaces, and costumes + sets.. the details are so fine.”

And For those of you who have not seen the film- it truly is a work of art and inspiring in so many ways; we absolutely agree with you on this one Roanna! 🙂
